When 21-year-old Sergeant Vadim Sheshmein was read out in court as guilty of war crimes and premeditated murder, he replied in the affirmative.

The soldier is accused of killing a 62-year-old man in northeastern Ukraine in the wake of the Russian attack. During the hearing, the prosecutor read out the charges against the accused and a translator translated them into Russian.
