Russia freed American basketball star Brittney Griner on Thursday in a prisoner swap with the US for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout in the United Arab Emirates. Griner is an Olympic medalist imprisoned since February in Russia for having a vaporizer with cannabis liquid in her luggage. Bout is a former lieutenant colonel in the Russian Army who is considered by the US Department of Justice to be one of the biggest arms dealers in the world.
