Republicans accuse Biden’s family of receiving money from a Chinese company

Republican lawmakers from the US Congress accused the family of President Joe Biden this Friday of having received money from a Chinese energy company.

"A Chinese company with direct ties to the Communist Party delivered payments to the family" of the president, said this Friday the leader of the Surveillance and Accountability Committee of the House of Representatives, James Comer, in an interview with Fox News.

The committee that Comer leads released a series of bank documents on Thursday showing that a Biden family associate, Rob Walker, allegedly used his company to transfer money he received from a Chinese energy company to four members of Biden’s family.

The payments were made to Biden’s son Hunter, his sister-in-law Hallie, his brother James and a third "Biden" unidentified, according to documents released by opposition lawmakers.

The payments allegedly come from a transfer of three million dollars from a Chinese company to the Biden partner.

The leader of the Republican-controlled oversight committee said Friday that these documents are only "the beggining" of the opposition party’s investigations into the president’s family.

Biden "he has not been telling the truth to the Americans; her family clearly received money from individuals connected to our foreign adversaries"Comer wrote on his Twitter account this Friday.

Hunter Biden’s lawyers rejected the Republican investigations, assuring that the transactions were legal and the product of the president’s son’s business.

"Hunter Biden, a natural citizen with full rights to conduct his business, joined other business partners in seeking a joint venture with a legitimate privately owned energy company in China,” Biden’s legal team said. in a statement collected by US media.

For his part, the Democratic leader of the oversight committee, Congressman Jamie Raskin, assured that the payments to the president’s ex-sister-in-law were made before Walker received the money from the Chinese company.

"The document proves once again, after four years of investigation by the Senate and the House of Representatives of Hunter Biden, that they have not found any connection with the president of the United States or any official"Raskin said in a statement.

In 2020, an investigation carried out by the Republicans into alleged corruption by Biden and his son in Ukraine found no evidence of irregularities committed by the Democrat.

The publication of these documents comes more than a month after the committee called four former Twitter executives to testify for vetoing the dissemination of a New York Post article critical of Biden, who was then a candidate for president, based on data taken from a computer that supposedly belonged to his son Hunter.
