IPL 2023: There are few days left for the start of IPS 2023. All the teams are ready for this year’s IPL. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore i.e. RCB have had a lot of respect for two of their former star players. AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle, both players have played many brilliant innings for RCB. Now RCB has done something for these players that is not under everyone’s control.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will retire the shirt numbers worn by AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle when the two legendary cricketers are inducted into the Indian Premier League (IPL) team’s ‘Hall of Fame’ on March 26. RCB tweeted that “Jersey number 17 and 333 will be retired forever when AB de Villiers and Chris Gayles are inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame.”

De Villiers, who wore the number 17 shirt, played for RCB for 11 seasons (2011 to 2021) scoring 4,491 runs in 156 games for the franchise. He announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in November 2021. On the other hand, explosive West Indies batsman Gayle, who started in the number 333 jersey, played for RCB for seven seasons. He scored 708 in 16 matches in the 2013 IPL season.

AB can join the team
