Prado’s Fear Unfounded: False Alarm Ends in Relief

Prado feared the worst, but everything turned out to be a scare

Positive news surrounds Jorge Prado, as the Galician motorcyclist experienced a frightening incident during the second race of the MXGP World Cup in Italy’s Maggiora circuit.

A multiple fall on the first lap of the race left Prado injured, with two motorcycles falling on top of him. He suffered significant pain in his left knee, which made it difficult for him to get up. However, he managed to continue riding his GasGas bike after a pit stop and rode two strong laps.

A video of the incident, posted on Twitter, shows Prado’s alarming condition, with the hashtag #PradoReactions trending on social media.

The current MXGP World Cup champion was worried that he may have suffered a serious injury, similar to Ruben Fernandez’s torn knee ligament, which would have put an end to his season and chances of repeating the title.

Following medical tests in Italy, it was revealed that Prado had not suffered any breaks, only a severe bruising. With rest and physiotherapy, he is expected to recover in time for the next World Cup event in Indonesia.

Mentally, Prado is dealing with mixed emotions. While relieved that his injury is not severe, he is also frustrated that the incident cost him valuable points and put him 34 points behind Tim Gajser in the championship standings. He will need to recover his physical and mental strength to challenge the Slovenian Honda rider.
