The New York administration said Sunday that it will put out to tender a $5 million immigrant legal advice contract amid hundreds of people arriving on buses from the southern United States.

This was stated through Twitter by the head of the local Immigration Affairs Office, Manuel Castro, who is looking for a company that provides services for asylum seekers with that budget for fiscal years 2023 and 2024.

According to the call document, the advice will work in the center for asylum seekers in New York, in five satellite centers and other itinerant spaces located near points where newly arrived immigrants are concentrated.

The demands of the contract reflect the urgent situation of the city’s reception network.
