Josh Naylor hit a solo home run in the ninth inning, and the Cleveland Guardians capitalized on three errors by first baseman Franchy Cordero to beat the Boston Red Sox 7-6 on Wednesday night.

Bobby Dalbec hit two homers and drove in five runs for the Red Sox, who have lost seven of eight games and 15 of the last 19.

Naylor hit his 14th homer, with one out, off Tanner Houck (5-4).

Dominican Enyel de los Santos (2-0) resolved an inning and a third for the victory. His compatriot Emmanuel Clase processed the ninth chapter without allowing a run, to reach 21 saves.

Cleveland tied it 6-6 in the eighth when Nolan Jones singled and advanced to second on Cordero’s wild pitch. Myles Straw drove in the tying run with a brace.

Two of Cordero’s errors came on shots. He got involved in a strange play in the fourth inning, when he hit a double that led to a pair of Cleveland fumbles.

Straw’s RBI double capped a three-run second-inning drive that included an error by Cordero as Cleveland took a 3-0 lead against Nathan Eovaldi. Dalbec hit a home run to the bottom half.

For the Guardians, the Dominicans Amed Rosario 5-2 with an RBI, José Ramírez 5-0, Franmil Reyes 4-2 with a run scored. The Venezuelan Andrés Giménez 1-0.

For the Red Sox, Mexican Alex Verdugo 4-2. Puerto Rican Christian Vázquez 4-2 with a run scored. The Dominican Cordero 3-1 with three runs scored. The Venezuelan Yolmer Sánchez 4-0.
