The Dominican Federation of Athletics Associations will celebrate this Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th the National Children’s Championship (U-13 and U-15 in the ages of 11 and 12 years and 13 and 14 years, in the facilities of the warm-up track of the Center Olympic Juan Pablo Duarte.
The information was released by the president of the Athletics Federation, former Olympic athlete, graduate Gerardo Suero Correa, in a press release.
He stated that the competitions will begin this Friday from 2:00 in the afternoon and on Saturday from 9:00 in the morning.
He indicated that more than 220 athletes will be in action where the most outstanding will be joining the ranks of the national preselections to later choose the national teams that will be active in the NACAC Tournament in mid-July next in Barranquita, in Santiago.
He indicated that athletes will be active, in both branches, from the 30 provinces of the country, and the National District.
He maintained that the general coordinator of the event will be Ramón Valdez and the experienced Belkys Mañón will act as technical director.
They will compete in Heptathlon and Pentathlon, in the modalities of 60 meter hurdles, 80 meter hurdles, 60 meter flat, high jump, long jump, bullet impulse and ball throw.
Also in the 800 flat meters, 1,000 and 1,200 flat meters.
