Culmia, the real estate platform, has released the second edition of its “Buyer’s Journey in Spain” report. According to the report, 73% of Spaniards who have looked for housing in the last year have not applied for any of the economic aids offered by the administration to begin the purchasing process.
Furthermore, the report reveals that 76% of respondents claim to have not requested these aids. The conclusions were drawn from a survey of over 2,000 citizens over 26 years old from various regions of Spain, including the Community of Madrid, Catalonia, Andalusia, Valencian Community, Basque Country, and Galicia.
The report also highlights the lack of awareness among housing seekers regarding the available aids. Around 20% of respondents admitted that they did not request the aid because it did not correspond to them, while only 4% claimed to have requested the ICO’s endorsement, and a mere 2% chose the aid offered by the State Housing Plan.
Among those who did request some form of aid, the study found that younger age groups between 25 and 45 years old are more likely to have requested aid. According to the report, the future of real estate is likely to be influenced by sustainability, energy efficiency, and digitalization.
Almost 20% of respondents claim that the housing condition determines their purchase decision, with the oldest age groups being most conditioned by this factor. Overall, the report provides an update on the residential panorama in Spain, with insights into the housing seeker’s profile, emerging trends, and future issues in the real estate market.
