With a participation that broke all expectations, more than 1,300 girls between 10 and 15 years old, the Dominican Volleyball Federation Women’s National Teams Project, attended the talent recruitment that took place in the Volleyball Pavilion.
Milagros Cabral, director of International Relations for the project, together with a group of collaborators and the coaching staff of the national teams, worked for more than six hours with the girls.
He indicated that everything he did was with the support and commitment of his parents-guardians, since there are many plans that are carried out jointly. "We have the full support of Mr. Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz"he added.
And then he added: “The most important thing is that we were able to build a database with a work team that we hired for these purposes, where we have telephone numbers, addresses, emails and provinces,” said Cabral, who could not hide the happiness in his face when seeing the success of the event.
He indicated that since Saturday night parents began to arrive with their girls from distant provinces such as Dajabón, Montecristi, Santiago Rodríguez, Jimaní, Santiago, San Cristóbal, Azua, Baní, San Juan de la Maguana, Higuey, Duvergé and others, to be present at the recruitment.
The coaches took the sizes and sizes of the girls, before taking them to the court to see their technical qualities.
“It is good to say that they are girls until they are 14 years old, that their body will change in two years, in weight and size, so we will continue to monitor and follow up,” Cabral stressed.
He stated that those that have shown more progress in technical qualities will be placed in a pre-selection to then start work.
They will go to the villages
Milagros Cabral and Priscila Rivera affirmed that within the plans it is in the not too distant future to carry out the same type of activity in the different Regions of the country.
“We will do this to make life easier for parents and girls so that when we go to the South, they can easily access it,” said Cabral.
