Montevideo Pharmacy Robbed: Thieves Steal Perfumes in Lezica Neighborhood Heist

A brazen robbery unfolded on a quiet Friday morning in a Montevideo neighborhood. Four thieves targeted a pharmacy on Lezica and Guanahani avenues, pulling up on two motorcycles. Two of them lingered outside, acting as lookouts, while the other two entered the store.

The thieves didn’t threaten anyone or display any weapons. Instead, they smashed glass cases and made off with several perfumes, according to police information obtained by News Agency. To conceal their identities, they wore helmets, covering their faces.

This incident bears a striking resemblance to another robbery that occurred just two days prior, on Wednesday morning. In that case, two thieves, also wearing helmets, used a mallet to break the windows of a jewelry store in Paso Molino. They stole gold rings, and so far, the perpetrators remain at large.

These back-to-back robberies have raised concerns about the increasing boldness of thieves in the area. The use of motorcycles and helmets has become a hauntingly familiar modus operandi, allowing the culprits to strike quickly and evade capture. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are working to determine whether these incidents are connected and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
