Miles Mikolas will stay with the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 34-year-old right-hander signed a two-year contract extension Friday with the Cardinals that runs at the end of the 2025 season.

The two-time All-Star was entering the final year of his current contract with St. Louis. He is scheduled for the second start on the season opener of his career on Thursday when the Cardinals host Toronto.

Mikolas went 12-13 with a 3.29 ERA last season when he helped St. Louis win the National League Central title.

“Miles is among the best pitchers today and continues to be a stable presence for us in the rotation and in the clubhouse,” St. Louis general manager John Mozeliak said in a statement.

Mikolas is 45-40 with a 3.79 ERA in 143 games with San Diego, Texas and St. Louis. He recently pitched a six-inning shutout for Team USA in the World Classic.
