Microsoft just rolled out a new update for older versions of Windows 11. This update, called KB5053657, fixes some annoying bugs.
It helps with printers that connect via USB. Sometimes these printers would print weird characters. The update also fixes an issue where Windows would crash for people who store their user profiles on virtual network disks.
Some other fixes include:
* Making it possible for the Tech Support app to open during remote desktop sessions
* Updating profiles for some mobile operators to help with internet access
* Adding a new font called Noto CJK for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages
* Stopping the collection of location history for Cortana
* Allowing voice commands to be more natural, rather than needing specific phrases
* Fixing a display issue for Japanese users in the Settings app
* Improving text size adjustment in Explorer and other windows
To get this update, you’ll need to manually download and install it. Go to Settings, then Windows Update, and look for KB5053657. You can also get it through your organization’s deployment system.
If you’re looking for the ISO file for Windows 11 23H2, you can download it here for Home, Pro, and other versions, or here for Enterprise. There’s also a 90-day Enterprise Evaluation version available.
