On Tuesday, thousands of people mobilized in Argentina demanding public universities in different parts of the country as part of the adjustment implemented by the government Government of Javier Milei.

One of the busiest demonstrations

The Argentine government estimates that between 100,000 and 150,000 people took part in one of the largest mobilizations since the president took office.

Teachers, students and some political leaders marched through the streets, including Kirchnerist leaders, teachers’ unions, artists and prominent figures from science and culture.

Students and professors from private universities also took part.

The Argentine president emphasized the discrediting of the university system and accused it of alleged indoctrination in the lecture halls. Before the march, the government assured that the budget for public education had been increased, estimated to be 71% less than last year.
