LOUD Coach Sephis Discusses Communication After Roster Revamp

Diego “Sephis” Jara, the coach of LOUD, stepped up to the mic after his team’s tough loss to paiN Gaming in the League of The Americas. He opened up about communication – a key issue that’s been plaguing the team.

LOUD made some big changes to their lineup, swapping out two Korean players for two Brazilians. The goal? Improve communication outside of the game, which was holding them back during matches. With the new lineup, players can now chat in Portuguese when they need to. But what about Moon “Route” Geom-su, the team’s Korean ADC? Sephis wanted to make sure Route felt comfortable and heard, so they brought in a translator, Lucas Jhun “Paclo” Hyun-uk.

It might seem counterintuitive, but Route’s actually been more talkative since the changes. “I think Route’s been more participative in the team with a translator than he was with three Korean players,” Sephis said. “It’s ironic.”

When it comes to big decisions, the team switches to English to make sure everyone’s on the same page. This way, Route doesn’t get left behind. Sephis is confident that the language barrier isn’t the problem – it’s the little things, like not being clear about objectives or strategies.

Communication Breakdowns

The team’s lack of communication is a major concern, and it’s not just about language. “Our communication issues aren’t necessarily related to language,” Sephis explained. “They’re more related to a lack of attention to detail when it comes to our goals, how we want to fight, which wave we want to use.”

LOUD’s got a tough road ahead, with a match against the undefeated Vivo Keyd Stars coming up. The stakes are high, with a total prize pool of R$ 310,000 and a spot in the Mid-Season Invitational and Esports World Cup on the line. All eyes will be on the team as they take to the Rift once again.

The Road to Recovery

LOUD’s first weekend in the LTA Sul was a disaster, with two losses and no wins. But Sephis is staying positive, focusing on ironing out those communication kinks. With their next match just around the corner, the team’s got a chance to turn things around. Will they be able to overcome their communication issues and take down the competition? Only time will tell.
