Sporting CP Wins 5-1, Reclaims Leadership in Portuguese Roller Hockey Championship.

The Sporting team returned to Lisbon with a 5-1 victory over Oliveirense, their coach Edo Bosch beaming after the game.
The win was a sweet homecoming for Bosch, who had previously led Oliveirense before switching with their coach this season.
Oliveirense had taken an early lead through Diogo Abreu, but Sporting soon took control.

A Turnaround in the First Half

In the first half, Sporting struggled to break down Oliveirense’s defense.
Xano Edo, the coach’s son, made several key saves to keep his team in the game.
Toni Pérez eventually equalized for Sporting (1-1), but it was clear they were still finding their footing.

Dominant Performance in the Second Half

The second half was a different story. Sporting came out strong, with Roc Pujadas scoring the first of his two goals on a counterattack to put Sporting ahead (1-2) for the first time.
Nolito Romero then added two goals, including one on a breakaway, to give Sporting a comfortable lead.
Roc Pujadas sealed the win with his second goal, also on a counterattack, making it 1-5.

The results of other games in the league were mixed, with some teams putting up big numbers.
Here are the results:

  • FC Porto beat Valongo 4-3
  • Sanjoanense thrashed Murches 10-4
  • Benfica dominated Sporting de Tomar 5-1
  • HC Braga beat Juventude de Viana 6-2
  • Riba d’ Ave won against Juventude Pacense 4-1

The Sporting team’s win was a convincing statement as they head into the final stretch of the season.
With three games left, they’re looking strong.
