The National Basketball League announced the finalists for the individual awards for its 2022 season, which will be presented at an event to be held this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Chili’s restaurant on Sarasota Avenue.
The “Most Valuable Player” award is disputed between Juan Guerrero, from the Santo Domingo Lions, Juan Miguel Suero, from the San Francisco de Macorís Indians and Richard Bautista, from the National District Titans.
As for the “Rookie of the Year” award, Jassel Pérez competes for the award with Luis Féliz, of the Puerto Plata Mariners.
In the “Most Progressive Player” category, Anyeuri Castillo, from the Soles de Santo Domingo Este and Bernardo Polanco, from the Marineros de Puerto Plata, dominated the preferences along with Bautista.
Bautista himself was also among the top three for the Defensive Player of the Year award, battling for the honor with Waverly Austin of the Suns and Kavell Bigby-Williams of the Indians.
Yeikson Montero of the Indios, Féliz of the Marineros and Jeromy Rodríguez of the Cañeros del Este, compete for the “Sixth Man of the Year”, while Richard Ortega of the Indios, Yoel Féliz of the Titanes and Julio César Javier, of the Soles, battle for the “Leader of the Year”.
The finalists for the different awards were selected by the press professionals who cover incidents on the first division circuit.
