MS Dhoni's Form Sparks Concern After Chennai Loss

MS Dhoni is under fire for his poor form. In a recent match against Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings needed 110 runs in 56 balls to win. Fans expected Dhoni to finish the game, but he didn’t deliver. His parents were in the stadium, watching as he scored just 30 runs off 26 balls.

Vijay Shankar’s unbeaten 69 was a highlight, but Dhoni’s slow pace was a major factor in the loss. His strike rate of 115 in the final overs just wasn’t enough. Former teammate Manoj Tiwari has some harsh words for Dhoni: he thinks the legendary cricketer should have retired after the 2023 IPL season.

A Former Teammate Speaks Out

Manoj Tiwari shared his thoughts on Cricketbuzz: “If I’m being honest, I think Dhoni should have retired after 2023 when his team won the championship. He’s earned so much respect and fame, but now it’s like he’s losing himself. The fans have high expectations, and it’s just not happening.”

Tiwari continued: “Dhoni is trying, but even coach Fleming says he can’t run for more than 10 overs. I don’t get it – if he can field for 20 overs, keep wickets, and dive around, why can’t he bat? It’s like he’s giving up when it matters most. I think it’s time for a strong call: if it’s not working, it’s time to stop.”

The debate is raging on social media, with fans and former players weighing in on Dhoni’s performance. One thing is clear: the pressure is on, and Dhoni needs to step up his game if he wants to stay in the IPL.
