A famous London law firm has made a very serious mistake by divorcing the wrong couple.
It happened when employees of famous lawyer Ayesha Vardag’s Vardags office applied for an order for a couple’s separation process through an online portal.
But according to the company, the lawyers opened the wrong digital file and filed for a final divorce from the wrong marriage.
The names of the victims have not been publicly released, but they have all been referred to as Mr. and Mrs. Williams.
The double victim of the mistake, who had been married for 21 years, was still in the negotiation phase; Therefore, they had not given the team permission to proceed with the divorce.

The legal separation was granted after just 21 minutes, but two days later the lawyers realized their mistake. When they filed for an annulment of the divorce in court, they said the incident was committed by “clicking the wrong button.”
Andrew McFarlane, president of the Supreme Court’s family division, which heard the case, rejected the application on the grounds that there was no way the error could have happened for such a simple reason.
“As with many similar online processes, an operator cannot reach the final screen where the final mouse click occurs until after going through a series of previous screens,” McFarlane said.
Ayesha Vardag, known as the “divorce diva” in the UK, said the judge had made “a bad decision” and “the state should not grant a divorce based on an administrative error”.
The lawyer claimed it all happened when she clicked on the wrong name in a drop-down menu on the official divorce filing portal.
In this way, just as this couple had been officially married for 21 years, due to a mistake, it only took 21 minutes for the marriage to end.
“This means that for now our law says you can get divorced because of a mistake made in an online system.” . And that’s just not right, it’s not reasonable and it’s not fair,” Vardag said.
