Changes in Roster

The Spain Women’s National Team has undergone some changes in its roster ahead of the Paris Olympic Games. Laura Quevedo has left the team due to personal reasons, while Silvia Dominguez suffered an injury during the final phase of preparation in Vigo. Awa Fam has also joined the U20 Selection, leaving the team with 14 players from the initial preparation phase in Vigo and the addition of Aina Ayuso.

Coaching Staff

National Coach Miguel Mendez will work with the following players in Madrid: Maite Cazorla, Mariona Ortiz, Leticia Romero, Iyana Martin, and Aina Ayuso; Queralt Casas and Andrea Vilaró; Maria Conde, Leonor Rodriguez, and Alba Torrens, team captain; Maria Araújo and Paula Ginzo; and Laura Gil, Nerea Hermosa, and Lola Pendande.

Preparation Schedule

The National Team will continue preparing for the Paris Olympic Games in Madrid before traveling to Charleroi, Brussels on Wednesday, July 10 to play two friendly matches against Belgium, the current European champion, on Friday, July 12 at 8:30 pm, and Canada on Saturday, July 13 at the same time. Both matches will be broadcast live on Teledeporte.

Final Preparation Phase

After the Brussels tournament, the national team will have a few days of rest before returning to Segovia on Thursday, July 18 to complete the last phase of preparation. The team will play its final two friendlies on Monday, July 22 against Australia at 8 pm and Wednesday, July 23 against Canada at the same time.
