Karni Sena protests against Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Prithviraj’, this demand of the creators

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming ‘Prithviraj’ is set to hit theaters in about 10 days, but it looks like it will face some opposition soon. Now a protest has been raised on behalf of Karni Sena regarding this film.

Earlier reports said that the group had objected to the film’s title and demanded that it be changed to ‘Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’. According to a recent report, the Rajasthan-based organization is adamant on changing the title and also wants the film to be screened before its release.

In a recent conversation with ETimes, Karni Sen’s Surjit Singh Rathore spoke about YRF’s promise to change the lead’s title from Akshay Kumar to Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. He said: ‘We met with Akshay Vidhana, CEO of Yash Raj Films, and he promised to change the title. They have agreed to honor our demand.”

However, a source associated with YRF denied having any such information. In response to this, Rathore told the portal, “If they don’t make changes and don’t have a screening of the film, Prithviraj will not be released in Rajasthan.”

Surjit Singh Rathore continued, saying in a serious tone, “We have already warned exhibitors from Rajasthan about this. If the title of the film does not change to Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, we will not allow you to show the film in Rajasthan. The site also reported that some of the exhibitors and distributors in Rajasthan have not yet communicated the status of this title change.

Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj stars Akshay Kumar in the title role, while Manushi Chhillar makes his Hindi film debut as Princess Sanyogita. The historical action drama stars Sanjay Dutt as Kaka Kanha, Sonu Sood as Chand Bardai, Manav Vij as Muhammad Ghori, and many more. The YRF production is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 3, 2022.
