Kapil Sharma Was Offered 9 Movies After ‘Jwigato’, Reveals Himself

Kapil Sharma won the third season of the stand-up comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in the year 2007. Since then he has never looked back. His popularity skyrocketed with shows like ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and he too has earned a special place in the comedy space.

At the same time, after comedy films like ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon’ (2015) and ‘Firangi’ (2017), Kapil Sharma has once again returned to cinema. He will be seen playing the lead role in actress and filmmaker Nandita Das’s upcoming film ‘Zwigato’. Kapil has played the role of a lower middle class delivery boy in the film co-starring Shahana Goswami. At the same time, fans are eagerly awaiting Kapil’s film.

On the other hand, during a special conversation with News18, Kapil Sharma revealed that he has received offers for many post-‘Jwigato’ movies in which he had to play a ‘serious’ role. Kapil Sharma said, “After the Zwigato trailer was released, I was offered nine movies and all these movies were in the serious zone. But many of these writers did not take their work seriously.


On the other hand, when asked what is stopping him from making more Hindi films, Kapil replied, “I am thankful to God that I can do a good job and earn well by staying within my comfort zone. But if I need to get out of that place and working under the blazing sun, the script has to be good to be worth it. The 41-year-old comedian and actor further added: “I just want to make movies that touch my heart. It was a priority for me and it always will be. I don’t want to make movies just to make money. I’ve earned enough. I’m very rich (laughs).”

Zvigato not only gave them the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone, but also created something that their children would be proud of when they grow up. Kapil Sharma said: “It was very hot when we filmed for Zwigato in Bhubaneswar. But we knew we were making a good movie and the audience will appreciate it. I knew this would become part of my job and my kids would grow up to be so proud of me to think that besides the fun stuff I’ve done on TV, I’ve done a good job on film.”

At the same time, saying that after the world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and the Asian premiere at the Busan International Film Festival, ‘Zwigato’ received a lot of appreciation. Now this most anticipated film by Kapil Sharma is set to be released in Indian theaters on March 17, 2023.
