Jorge Peirano Basso appeared this Thursday afternoon at the Interpol headquarters, where he awaits in the next few hours his transfer to the Punta de Rieles prison, from where he will later be extradited to Paraguay.
Peirano Basso was a member of the board of directors of the Paraguay-based financial institution Banalemán Fondos Mutuos in 2006.
Due to this file, his brother José Peirano Basso was also extradited, who, after verifying that he had already paid everything that the Paraguayan justice had ordered, managed to file the case by informing the victims of the crime of diversion imposed at the time of funds not retained. .
Jorge Peirano Basso’s lawyer, Pablo Donnángelo, argued Underlined that the future of the former cowboy will be the same as that of his brother, only that Paraguayan law requires that the defendant be on the territory of that country to be convicted.
Donnángelo said he hopes that once his client is in Paraguay, he will be sent to house arrest on bail while he awaits his release.
