It is also being revised for width and no ball in WPL, this time this rule will also be applicable in IPL

The WPL has become the first league of T20 franchise leagues around the world, which is also being reviewed for wide and off-the-ball. Previously, players were allowed to do a review only in case the referee gave them up and they didn’t. Although the total number of reviews has not increased. That is, the number of revisions (2 DRS) for tickets that were previously available will continue to be available.

The first two matches of the WPL have also seen review in such cases. In the first match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants, the umpire bowled a ball into the side of Mumbai bowler Saika Ishaq’s leg. Here Mumbai took a review and the umpire had to overturn the decision when the ball hit the batsman’s gloves.

Similarly, a similar review was also made in the second match of WPL. Delhi Capitals’ Jemima Rodriguez hit a four off a flower toss from RCB bowler Megan Schutt. Jemima sensed that this full toss was above her waist, she immediately checked, however her check was unsuccessful as on ball follow-through, the ball was seen to go down towards the stumps.

In IPL 2023 the review rule will also apply in wide and without the ball. This will surely add more excitement to the exciting matches. This is because bowlers often use balls such as long length yorkers to prevent the batsman from hitting fast in the last minute and on many occasions it proves to be decisive.
