The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had released the central contracts list a few days ago in which Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are two big names who are in the headlines for not getting a central contract. Iyer and Kishan kept getting opportunities in the Indian team but were not included in the list.
Especially if we talk about Ishan Kishan, he demanded a break from the Test series against South Africa due to personal reasons after which his demand was also accepted. Kishan was expected to feature in domestic cricket after a break from the national team, but he did not.
Now, a report has come out from ESPN Cricinfo which revealed that the management of the Indian cricket team had contacted Ishan Kishan during the ongoing India vs England Test series. While Kishan said that he is still not ready to play. Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel has joined the Indian team as a wicketkeeper-batsman who played an important innings of 90 runs and 39 runs in the fourth Test match for which he also received the Man of the Match award.
Circumstances seem to be getting worse for Ishan Kishan as recently Indian team coach Rahul Dravid had said that Kishan needs to play some form of cricket if he wants to earn a place in the team again. Nevertheless, he ignored things and did not take part in the Ranji Trophy with his Jharkhand team.
On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer has also become a topic of discussion after he was ruled out of Mumbai for a game in the Ranji Trophy due to injury. In such a situation, the NCA report came out making the big claim that Iyer’s injury was false.
