The T20 World Cup will be hosted jointly by West Indies and America in June 2024, with a total of 20 teams participating this time. There is good news for the England team ahead of this mega tournament, which features long-injured fast bowler Joffra Archer. Archer, who has been unable to take part in many major series and tournaments in recent years due to frequent injuries, returns to the field ahead of the T20 World Cup. Rob Key, manager of the England men’s cricket team, made this clear in his statement.

Can return to the field from the T20 series against Pakistan

Jofra Archer was recently in India taking part in ongoing preparations for Sussex ahead of the start of the season. Joffra Archer is currently in Barbados playing at club level so he can test his fitness. In his statement made on ESPN Cricinfo, England men’s cricket manager Rob Key said that Joffra will not play Test cricket next summer but he will definitely be fully prepared to take part in the T20 World Cup in June. Joffra can return to the field in the T20 World Cup series against Pakistan.

We’re in no hurry with Archer’s case

Rob Key went on to say in his statement that we don’t want to rush Joffra Archer’s return so that he can play for a long time when he returns and not be ruled out again after a series or two. Our plan is to only play Joffra in the limited overs format this summer and only consider his return to Test cricket once we reach winter. We tell you that Joffra last played for the England team in March last year in the T20 series against Bangladesh and was unable to return to the field after that.
