The Iraqi parliament has approved a bill banning the normalization of relations with Israel.
According to international media reports, the Council of Iraqi Representatives today approved a draft resolution banning relations with occupying Israel.
The media office of the Council of Representatives said the assembly had passed a bill criminalizing the normalization of relations with the Israeli occupation.
The bill was passed unanimously at a general meeting in Baghdad, according to the state-run INA news agency.
Following the passage of the bill, it is now a crime to talk of establishing relations with Israel in Iraq. By law, no government official, member of parliament, businessman or ordinary citizen can demand relations with Israel.
