India: Modi’s crushing defeat at the hands of Congress in Karnataka

In the assembly elections held in the Indian state of Karnataka, the Congress defeated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to media reports, in the Karnataka assembly elections, Congress won 130 seats while BJP managed to win only 66 seats. The results keep coming.

The total number of seats in the state assembly is 224 while the party winning 113 seats can bring its own chief minister. According to the above results, there is a strong possibility that the Congress will become the Chief Minister.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi congratulated local leaders and activists for getting a clear majority and said that the victory has closed the market of hate and opened the shop of love.

Rahul Gandhi said that we participated in the elections out of love instead of hatred, the people of Karnataka proved that they love the country, the power of the poor gave a crushing defeat to the rich capitalists.

Congress is likely to bring in a Muslim Deputy Chief Minister

Senior Congress minority wing leader Umair Ahmed Khan in Karnataka expressed happiness over the victory.

He said that we will run the government firmly in the state, maybe a Muslim leader will be chosen as the Deputy Chief Minister.
