Héctor Luis anota 35 y Los Guerreros queda solos en primero

The Warriors as a whole achieved their second victory in the Superior Volleyball League (LVS), to place themselves in the first position of the contest, after beating the Santos de San Lázaro (1-2) with a score of 3-2 (19 -25, 25-21, 25-17, 21-25 and 15-7) in the first match of the double day held last night at the Ricardo-Gioriver-Arias Volleyball Palace.

The winners had to shake off after they lost the first set, thanks to strong shots from their main guns that placed good shots on no-man’s-land.

From the second quarter, Héctor Cruz took the offensive reins of the winners and with shots from all angles of the court, managed to equalize the actions to one per side.

Cruz, the best of the night, got 35 points, escorted by Luster Rosario with 12 goals.

In the second games, again, the boys led by Wagner Pacheco set the pace and took both technical times, with good attacks from Luis David Reinoso.

The Guerreros’ libero, Enger Mieses, had a great defensive game where a world helped his usher to put his teammates to produce. At times, they were very smartly anticipating the holes of their adversaries.

Then Alexis with two good shots put the score 22-18 in favor of the Warriors. Another key aspect was good defense.

In the fourth quarter, the players from Los Santos de San Lázaro came out with great force and put the score at 7-3, however, there was a reaction from the Warriors and they managed to equalize the actions at 14.

The Saints got two blocks in a row and put the score in their favor 17-15. The match progressed and with good attacks from Bismal Almonte and good blocks, Loren Ricardo’s pupils tied the match at two sets per side, causing the fifth and decisive quarter.

For the losers, Henry López finished with 21, followed by Bismal with 17 points.
