RIYADH: The Saudi Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of heavy rains in the kingdom, which also threatens to create a flood situation.
According to the Arab News Agency, Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather advisory in the kingdom, which has predicted heavy rains with thunder in different regions from Saturday to Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of heavy rains with thunderstorms in Jazan, Najran, Asir and Baha regions from Saturday, July 30 to August 3, while moderate rains are also expected in Makkah.
The Meteorological Department says that this rain system can also affect Riyadh, Sharqiya and Qasim region and heavy rains can also occur here.
The National Center says that there is a risk of flooding due to rains, during which citizens should avoid going to low-lying areas and take precautionary measures.
The national agency says citizens should follow safety guidelines issued by rescue agencies.
