Former Ripple CEO: XRP Could Become Worth $100

Ripple's Attorney Says Trial Won't End Until 2023

While many Ripple investors seem to be losing hope after XRP’s performance in recent months, former Ripple CEO Matt Hamilton has not. Hamilton wrote on Twitter that he expects the Ripple price to rise to $100 one day.

“I don’t make price predictions. But I don’t see why XRP couldn’t hit $100 at some point. It’s a matter of time. If you said in 2009 Bitcoin would reach $60k, you would be laughed at too.” so wrote Hamilton.

Hamilton continues to defend Ripple

Hamilton currently works as a director at Bittensor. Yet Hamilton still has a high opinion of Ripple. Hence, he couldn’t resist responding after a Bitcoin fan attacked a Ripple fan on Twitter, as he suggested in a video that XRP could rise to $100.

The Bitcoin fan noted that XRP cannot reach $100 because the cryptocurrency is “literally worthless in a centralized database.” Hamilton responded to this, writing:

“Centralized database? OK, so future currencies are subjective and nobody has a crystal ball. But pretending you don’t know the difference between a blockchain and a centralized database won’t help you judge things. The XRP Ledger is decentralized.”

The XRP price depends on the outcome of the SEC lawsuit

The XRP price has fallen dramatically since hitting its all-time high of $3.40 on January 7, 2018. The token crashed hard due to the lawsuit filed against the company by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Meanwhile, the future of Ripple and its XRP token largely depends on the outcome of this lawsuit, which is expected to end on or before March 31, 2023.

If the outcome of the lawsuit is in favor of Ripple, the XRP token will be added back to almost all crypto exchanges in the United States. This alone will cause a huge price increase. However, if the outcome is not favorable, it seems likely that the XRP price will crash further. It will therefore remain very exciting until the judge’s verdict is made.
