For not returning the money, the armed citizen took the bank staff hostage

Beirut: In Lebanon, which is suffering from an economic crisis, an armed citizen reached the bank and took the customers hostage, including the staff, after not returning the money.

According to foreign media reports, the armed citizen entered a branch of the Federal Bank of Lebanon in the capital Beirut and angrily demanded: ‘Give me back my money’.

The citizen has brought a pistol and a gallon of petrol with him. He has taken hostage the bank staff and all the customers in the branch. Three gunshots are heard from inside the bank.

Security forces have surrounded the branch from all sides while negotiations are being conducted with the armed citizen over the telephone.

The accused threatened that if the money in the account was not returned, he would commit suicide by spraying petrol on himself after shooting the staff.

According to reports, the accused has about 2 lakh US dollars in his bank account. The bank has frozen the account for some reason.
