Euphoria: Zendaya, unleashed in the trailer for season 2, which already has a release date

HBO Max has revealed the premiere date for season 2 of Euphoria. The series starring Zendaya will return on January 9, 2022 with a batch of eight episodes.

The chain has revealed it through a trailer. The clip shows Rue (Zendaya) singing Call Me Irresponsible. It also includes short scenes of a party with Jules (Hunter Schafer), Kat (Barbie Ferreira), Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney). "When you are young everything seems permanent. But as you get older, you start to realize that nothing is and everyone you love may disappear."says Rue.

The cast is completed by Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Storm Reid and Austin Abrams. In the second season, Dominic Fike, Minka Kelly and Demetrius ‘Lil Meech’ Flenory Jr. join the cast.

Created, written and directed by Sam Levinson, Euphoria is based on an Israeli miniseries of the same name, which was devised by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin. The series follows Rue and a group of high school youth as they grapple with their problems with drugs, sex, and violence.

"It is a challenging season. It’s going to be difficult and devastating at times, but I think Rue really deserves all that care when it comes to her character, because I think she represents a lot to a lot of people."Zendaya explained to Teen Vogue. "I think this season is not going to be easy. It won’t be easy to see"added.

Production for the second season was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, HBO Max released two special episodes that bridge the gap between the first and second installments.
