Derrick White Joins Paris Olympics Dream Team

Derrick White points to the Dream Team for the Paris Games

Derrick White is on the cusp of winning his first NBA ring, with just one more win against the Dallas Mavericks needed to confirm the Celtics’ status as the best team of the season. However, the victory celebrations might be short-lived, as some players will soon join USA Basketball to defend the United States at the Paris Olympics. White is being touted as a strong candidate to join the team, with NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski reportedly naming him as the top choice to replace Kawhi Leonard, who is struggling with a knee injury.

White’s excellent defensive skills, leadership abilities, and dominance on the court make him an attractive option for the US team. While many of the chosen players are known for their scoring prowess, White’s well-rounded skills would bring a valuable balance to the roster.

If selected, White would become the third Celtics player on the team, joining Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday. Other notable players on the list include Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Steph Curry, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, and LeBron James.

However, the choice has sparked debate, with some arguing that Jalen Brunson, Kyrie Irving, or Jaylen Brown might be more deserving of a spot on the team.
