Barcelona Concludes Season with Win

Barcelona closes the season with a new victory

Barcelona capped off a historic season with a 3-0 win over Valencia at the Antonio Puchades stadium, led by coach Jonatan Giráldez in his final match at the helm. The team’s almost perfect league campaign (29 wins, 1 draw, 137 goals for, 10 against) and outstanding overall performance (46 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat, 211 goals for, 19 against) brought a fitting conclusion to the season.

Giráldez opted for consistency in his lineup, resting several players including Cata, Paños, Batlle, Paredes, Alexia, Salma, and Mariona in preparation for the Olympic Games. However, he still fielded a strong starting eleven, featuring Mapi’s first start since his injury and Bronze, whose contract expires on June 30 and whose future remains uncertain.

The first half was a stalemate, with Valencia creating the most scoring opportunities. Asun sent a shot against the woodwork early on, and Bronze had a header cleared off the line just before halftime. Barça dominated possession but struggled to break down Valencia’s defense, which was well-organized and imposing.

The second half saw a dramatic turnaround, with Barça scoring three goals in quick succession. Vicky opened the scoring with a signature goal, finishing a pass from Graham. Patri, the MVP of the match, scored the second goal, finishing a cross from Walsh. Graham then scored his own goal, dribbling past Enith to score the long-awaited goal that cemented his status as the top scorer of the course.

Barcelona’s impressive season saw 28 different players used, with Pina playing the most minutes (1,840), starting the most times (22), and participating in the most games (29). The team’s top scorer was Graham, who also led the league in assists with 19.
