Healy Wins Tour of Slovenia Stage 8; Bilbao Claims Overall Runner-Up

 Healy takes the last stage of the Tour of Slovenia;  Pello Bilbao, second overall

And the EF Education-Easy Post team’s Irishman, Ben Healy, won the final stage of the Tour of Slovenia, a challenging 156.9km route between Sentjernej and Novo Mesto. The stage was led by the Italian Giovanni Alleotti, who successfully maintained his advantage without difficulty and was crowned the winner of the event.

Healy marked his season debut with a precise attack just three kilometers before the finish line. The Irishman timed his energy perfectly, crossing the line in Novo Mesto six seconds ahead of a group of 21 chasers.

In the overall standings, Russian rider Alexander Kristoff took second place, with Venezuelan Orluis Aular from Caja Rural-Seguros RGA placing third. Giovanni Alleotti finished 11th, just behind his closest rival, Spanish rider Pello Bilbao from Bahrain Victorius, who was separated from the leader by a mere 10 seconds. Meanwhile, Pablo Castrillo from Kern Pharma secured fifth place in the general classification, 43 seconds behind the winner.
