The last league game of the first edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) turned out to be very important in many ways. The Delhi Capitals team entered the final directly after winning by 5 wickets against UP Warriors. With this victory, the women of Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians have 12 points in the points table, but on the basis of a better net run rate, the women’s team of Delhi Capitals managed to take the first place.

In this match, the Delhi Capitals side got a target of 139 runs, which they achieved with the loss of 5 wickets in 17.5 overs. The starting pairing of Captain Meg Lanning and Shefali Verma shared a quick partnership of 56 runs for the first wicket, giving the team a great start.
