Defense of India’s decision to purchase oil from Russia

New Delhi: India has responded to Western countries’ concerns over its decision to buy oil from Russia.

According to a foreign news agency, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said in a statement that New Delhi will prioritize its energy needs like the European Union.

S. Jaishankar said that India will take its own decisions on Russian oil imports, Western countries do anything for their energy needs, similarly India is free to take decisions for its energy needs.

He said that he understands that the situation of the conflict and Europe has its own point of view.
