MOSCOW: A Russian presidential spokesman has hinted at the execution of a former US soldier captured in Ukraine.
According to local media reports, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview that Russia could not guarantee that ex-soldiers captured in Ukraine would not face the death penalty.
“I cannot guarantee anything, it depends on the investigation,” the Russian presidential spokesman said.

Earlier, two British and a Syrian soldier were arrested in Ukraine and sentenced to death by a court.
The US State Department has once again strongly barred US citizens from traveling to Ukraine.
