Deputy Cal told prosecutors that he had received death threats from murdered businessman Gonzalo Aguiar

The complaint was assigned by the Directorate of Purification Prioritization and Assignment (DPA) to the 5th shift of Maldonado, led by Prosecutor Jorge Vaz, since the alleged events occurred there.

This Wednesday, before the Senate Commission on Public Security and Coexistence, the deputy confirmed his statements about the businessman’s death threats and his links with police officers.

At the request of the Senator of the Cabildo Abierto, Guido Manini Ríos, the commission that received deputy Cal was secret, so there are minutes, but they are not public.

The Senator of the Frente Amplio, Eduardo Brenta, pointed out that Cal reaffirmed its public statements and, in view of this, the Commission decided to summon the Minister of the Interior Nicolás Martinelli to give explanations on possible measures in the case following the complaint of the lobbyist legislator.

Days ago, Cal said that the businessman murdered by his ex-partner in Punta del Este had threatened him, a concern he said he had raised with government authorities at the time but to which he received no response.
