David Warner is the fifth most successful captain in terms of winning matches in IPL, this is how he became the captain of Delhi.

Explosive Australian batsman David Warner holds the Delhi Capitals captaincy. Following the departure of Rishabh Pant from IPL 2023, the Delhi franchise has entrusted this responsibility to Warner. David Warner is the fifth most successful captain in terms of winning IPL matches. He has captained in 69 games and has won 35 games. During this, his team has faced defeat in 32 games and two games are tied. As a captain in IPL, Warner’s batting has also done well. In these 69 matches, he scored 2840 runs at a batting average of 47.33 and a strike rate of 142.28. During this, he also scored a century and 26 half centuries.

David Warner is playing IPL since 2009. That is, out of 15 IPL, he has played 14 seasons. Here he has scored 5881 runs in 162 matches. He is the highest run scoring foreign batsman in IPL. Overall he is the fourth highest scorer in IPL, only Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are ahead of him. By the way, Warner is ahead of these top three batsmen in the IPL in terms of batting average and strike rate. Warner’s batting average in IPL is 42 and strike rate is 140.
