The General Directorate of Customs (DGA), informed that the cargo consolidation companies that receive the merchandise through the port of Haina, can already transfer them by land to the authorized warehouses in the cities of Santiago and Puerto Plata.
The objective of this provision is to decongest the deposits of the port of Haina, terminal receiving 22. 8% of loads of containers arriving in the country.
The entity will allow these transfers, as a result of the fact that Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, director of the institution, met with the businessmen of said companies in New York City to listen to your problemsand through them to benefit the Dominican diaspora and their families who use these services.
For its part, the Customs Communications Directorate explained that the consolidated containerized cargoes that arrive in the country through the port of Haina, They are shipped after being inspected with x-ray technology.
However, due to their characteristics, these loads are later physically inspected in the warehouses of the institution in the northern region.
“It is a service that we provide mostly to the Dominican community abroad and a very important complaint that they had is that much of that cargo is destined for the Cibao”, andexplained Sanz Lovatón.
