Conaleche has lent more than RD$223 million to the livestock sector

The Credit Committee of the National Council for the Regulation and Promotion of the Dairy Industry (Conaleche), has approved this year 173 loans, for an amount of more than RD$223 million.

The loans, which have been approved in the three committees carried out this 2022, have been granted to ranchers, processors, associations and federations belonging to Conaleche.

The money will be used for the purchase of cattle, improvement of farms, acquisition of equipment and promotion of pasture.which will have a positive impact on national milk production.

Only in committee made in April RD$79,224,610 were approvedout of a total of 64 loans granted.

In addition to the loans, the training workshops for farmerswith which they seek to improve milk production on their farms.

The executive director of Conaleche, Miguel Laureano, recalled that one of the priorities of Law 180-01 is promote the development of national livestock through loans, so this is being achieved through the Conaleche Credit Committee.

“The field is changing and our sector too, thanks to the support it has received from the Government. We are transforming the dairy sectorbeing increasingly sustainable and facing the difficulties presented by climate change”, he said.

The Credit Committee is held every 45 days and is headed by the executive director of Conaleche.
