The net attributable profit of The Coca-Cola Company experienced an increase of 23.9% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period last year, reaching 2,781 million dollars (2,574 million euros), according to the quarterly accounts published this Monday by the Atlanta multinational.

Invoicing in the first three months of the 2022 financial year reached 10,491 million dollars (9,712 million euros), which implies an increase of 16.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In organic data, which excludes the volatility of the exchange rate and changes in the company’s accounting perimeter, Coca-Cola sales grew by 18%, including a 7% increase in prices and an 11% increase in sales. concentrated sales, which reflect the 8% increase in the volume of units sold.

Between January and March, the Atlanta giant undertook an average increase of 7% in the price mix, registering the largest increases in Latin America (19%) and North America (11%), while in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region ( EMEA) and in Asia Pacific the increases were 6%.

By geographical area, revenues in North America increased by 22%, to 2,937 million dollars (2,441 million euros), up to 3,590 million dollars (3,323 million euros); in Latin America they grew by 34%, to 1,214 million dollars (1,124 million euros); in EMEA they added 1,833 million dollars (1,697 million euros); and in Asia Pacific a total of 1,411 million dollars (1,306 million euros), 1% more.

On its side, income from its holdings in bottlers grew by 8% in the first quarter, to 2,044 million dollars (1,892 million euros).

Likewise, Coca-Cola expects that the suspension of its activity in Russia will have a direct adverse impact of 1% on the volume of units sold and between 1% and 2% on recorded revenues and operating profit, subtracting 4 cents on the dollar to expected earnings per share.

The multinational has confirmed its projections for 2022, when it expects to achieve organic sales growth of between 7% and 8%, with basic product inflation around 5%. In this way, it expects to achieve an increase in earnings per comparable share of between 5% and 6% compared to 2.32 dollars in 2021.
