“Rhino horn is not cool! Let’s unite under my #ChasingZero initiative and end the atrocities that endanger our precious wildlife, ”he wrote in the footer of the post. A link to a kitten intended to support the fight against poaching also accompanies the cliché.
The princess’s commitment to wildlife conservation is not new. In May, Prince Albert’s wife posed next to a wounded and obviously poached rhino on the ground.
According to Environment Minister Barbara Creecy, at least 249 rhinos were killed in the first half of 2021 in South Africa. This is a figure three times higher than that seen at the same time last year, Reuters reported in late July.
