Cepsa appoints Alice Acuña as new head of trading

Cepsa has announced the appointment of Alice Acuña as the company’s new Commercial Director, effective December 1st. She reports directly to CEO Maarten Wetselaar and is part of the company’s Management Committee.

Acuña was previously Shell’s Senior Vice President of LNG Marketing and Trading, based in Singapore and responsible for building and optimizing Shell’s global LNG supply and trading portfolio and developing new markets and sectors for this business, with exceptional… results. and a clear strategy during one of the most volatile times in the industry. From now on, he will lead Cepsa’s commercial division, which is crucial to the implementation of the Positive Motion strategy. Trading comprises 220 professionals based in the Madrid and Singapore offices and manages the supply and marketing of products for the company and the marketing of raw materials and intermediates for third parties.

Since joining Shell as a sales analyst in Paraguay in 1996, Acuña has held various management positions in Spain (between 2006 and 2011), the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Singapore, driving commercial integration and leading teams in transformation processes and digitalization. His extensive global experience spans companies and roles such as commercial, utility, strategy, lubricants and aviation. She has also served as a director and represented Shell in various venture capital companies.

With dual Paraguayan and Spanish nationality and a mother of two, Acuña holds a postgraduate degree in strategy and innovation from SAID/Oxford Business School, a postgraduate degree in business administration from the University of Cambridge and a business administration degree from the Catholic University of Paraguay.
