Spanish Carolina Marin won this Friday in two sets against the Japanese Natsuki Nidaira and qualified for the Canadian Open badminton semi-finalsin which she will face the Taiwanese player Shuo Yun Sung.
After eliminating this same Friday Swiss Jenjira Stadelmann in eighths, Marín prevailed with authority to Nidaira, by 21-10 and 21-19.
Carolina Marín, Olympic champion and triple world champion, will face Sung in the semifinalswho beat the American Beiwen Zhang in the quarterfinals 21-18 and 25-23.
In the men’s box, there were eliminated the two participating Spaniards: Luis Enrique Peñalver fell to the Brazilian Ygor Coelho 21-15 and 21-16, and Pablo Abián fell to the Japanese Takuma Obayashi 21-9 and 21-13.
