Carlos Salvador Bilardo was declared Illustrious Citizen of the City of La Plata by the Deliberative Councilone day after the 36th anniversary of the consecration of the national team in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. The parliamentary initiative belongs to the councilors of the Frente de Todos Facundo Albini and Juan Granillo Fernández, two well-known fans of Estudiantes, where Bilardo was a player between 1965 and 1970 and began training as a coach.
In recognition of Bilardo, who at 84 is going through Hakim-Adams disease, a neurodegenerative disease that was detected in May 2018his daughter Daniela, his grandson, his brother Jorge and Carlos Pachamé, emblem of that three-time champion of America and intercontinental champion of 1968 and field assistant in the world champion team of 1986, were present.
