KL Rahul stepped up to the plate, literally. With Faf du Plessis out, he got a chance to open for the Delhi Capitals against the Chennai Super Kings. And boy, did he make the most of it! Rahul smashed 77 runs off 51 balls, including 3 sixes and 6 fours.
Rahul said, “I’m used to adjusting my batting order. Before IPL 2025 started, I was preparing to bat at the top. But my coach wanted me to bat at number 4. When our opener couldn’t play against CSK, I got the chance to open. I was happy to take it.”
He added, “Abhishek Porel’s 20-25 runs set the game up for us. It really gets you going. I had some good partnerships with Axar and Abhishek Porel. I hit some boundaries early in the powerplay, but I Lost my wicket at the wrong time. The heat got to me at the end, I was tired.”
The Delhi Capitals won the match by 25 runs, with the Chennai Super Kings only managing 158 runs. This win puts the Delhi Capitals at the top of the table, with no losses in IPL 2025 so far.
