How to make bokashi

day 1

Mix soil, manure and rice husks well.
Dissolve honey or molasses, yogurt and yeast in 20 liters of water.
The ratio is 10 parts organic matter to 1 part molasses or wheat bran.
Moisten the mixture with this liquid while stirring.
Add a little water until the mixture is moist enough so that when you squeeze out some of the mixture it doesn’t drip and it holds its shape.
If the humidity is not enough, continue adding rainwater and mix well.
Leave the pile standing like a volcano and cover it with plastic.
Stir two to three times daily to oxidize the mixture and lower the temperature.

Day 2 and 3

It should be stirred three times a day, kept at a height of 30 cm and covered with plastic or mat bags (sacks).
On the second day the smell resembles yeast.

Day 4

Mix 3 times a day, reduce the height of the stack to 15 cm and covering is no longer necessary.

Day 5 and 6

It should be stirred at least twice a day, at a maximum height of 15 cm and kept outdoors.

Day 7

The mixture must be spread so that it loses some of its moisture, up to a height of about 10 cm. The temperature should be low and the mixture should be a uniform gray color.

You can also add a small amount of ground eggshells, ground charcoal, or ash.

After completing Bokashi you should:

Store in a bag, avoid places with high humidity.
Store in the shade, in a cool, dry place.
Use it within 3 months of completion.
